Amy is a red-blooded American hottie who sets the bar high, literally. She’s a multiple NCAA & US champion in the high jump, has competed in 4 Olympics, and she’s posed for Playboy (on the cover), Esquire, FHM & Maxim. Her smile and her look totally have a girl-next-door vibe, and every pic of her body shows a sculpted work of art. Acuff also hails from Texas and is UCLA-educated.

We were treated to giving Amy the notorious InGameNow interview… here it goes:

Q. Ok, here is are some questions. Please only answer what you feel comfortable with. Depending on what you do and do not answer, I will probably come back at you with more stuff. Again I appreciate your time :)

A. Ok, interview time

Q. Amy, thanks for taking the time to chat with InGameNow for our World’s Hottest Athlete post. With two Olympic appearances, and a Playboy cover, you are an obvious choice for inclusion on this list. Your ability to bring attention to a sport that is usually overlooked is a credit to your beauty and incredible marketing.

Tell us, after two Olympics and numerous international meets, which was most memorable?
a. The elation of setting a personal best is always hard to beat. Maybe the best was breaking the 2 meter barrier for the first time in Brussells, Belgium in front of 80,000 people.

Q. With a very lengthy career, you are as battle tested as they come. Does your experience and mental toughness make up for the few years you give up to your competitors?

A. Well, I don’t know that I’m over the hill yet at 33 physically. I have to admit I’m not the best rain jumper on record. I’d like to think that my consistency has something to do with mental toughness.

Q. UCLA has one of the best athletic programs in the country. Do you feel school pride for being part of their storied history?

A. I really enjoyed my college experience and studied hard too!

Q. Why should I let you stick me with a needle (we can put a link in here for your business)?

A. Acupuncture is such a treat. I went into it so I could fix myself. Being a high jumper is like being Humpty Dumpty… breaking into pieces and needing people to put you back together again.

Q. You have spent some time in Corpus Christi, please tell me you have been to a Robert Earl Keen concert!

A. I have not… I’ve been in California a long time. I do get back for family visits from time to time.

Q. If I ordered your High Jump Video, exactly how high could I get? FYI, i am 6′ tall and can barely touch rim on a basketball court.

A. You might be able to jump about 5′9″ without putting much training into it. Let me know how that works out.

Q. Can you dunk?

A. Yes. That’s part of my fall training.

In 2004, you were on the cover of Playboy. Do you regret taking your shoes off?
Not at all. It was a great experience.

Q. Was Playboy a life changing experience? How often are you noticed for that vs. for being an athlete?

A. It s very rare that somebody recognizes me. When I travel I am very unassuming.

Q. We are covering all sorts of sports for our post. What type of athlete do you find sexiest?

A. I like broad shoulders! Many aquatic sports, volleyball, etc. fall into this category. It’s hard to beat the all around fit bodies in track and field though.

Q. Everyone knows the stories about the Olympic Village and thousands upon thousands of condoms being used, want to share any storys?

A. I saw one girl had a tank top on that had rainbow lettering that said, “This Summer Is Single”. She was clearly Eastern European by her other stylings and the awkwardness of the phrasing on her shirt reflected that.

Q. Finally, who is your pick for World’s Hottest Athlete?

A. Male: Andreas Thorkildsen- javelin (enough said)
Female: Lolo Jones- hurdles (She has the perfect balance of beauty and strength).

This heptathlete has an Olympic Bronze from 2004 and a proper English accent like Elizabeth Hurley. Kelly has a gorgeous smile, and if you look carefully you’ll see a sexy tattoo that draws your eyes right to her waist, because I’m sure you wouldn’t've looked there on your own. A well-rounded track star, Kelly is your perfect partner for high tea after she outruns, jumps, and throws you.
