Warning Georgia Bulldogs: You Are Going To Lose Today

6 Sep

Ok, Bulldog fans, I know you are feeling robbed right now – feeling like the #1 spot was stolen from you after just one week and you didn’t do anything to deserve it.  Well, the good news is today you will get your wish – you will be back in the national spotlight.  You will be the #1 story on ESPN.  Highlights of your game will be shown over-and-over again on every local station around the country.  Finally, the national exposure you have been wishing for will be yours.  Well, before you get too excited, I guess I should let you in on the secret:

YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE TODAY TO CENTRAL MICHIGAN

I feel your pain.  You see, I am a Michigan Wolverines fan.  I went through this last year.  Had to endure (and frankly still do) seemingly endless highlights of Appalachian State blocking a last second field goal attempt and celebrating on our field.  Its not fun – I wish I had been warned – that’s why I feel like its my moral responsibility to warn you today.   Its still summer time – go to the beach, have a picnic, fly a kite, doesn’t much matter, just STAY AWAY FROM THE TV TODAY.

Central Michigan is led Dan LeFevour, by one of the best QB’s in the country – you haven’t heard of him, but yes, he is better than your guy.  As a Freshman, he completed 64% of his passesfor over 3,000 yards and ran for an additional 520.  Then, he stepped it up last year – completing 65% of his throws for 3,600 yards and running for 1,122 and 19 TDs.  Just for context, Knowshon, your stud RB, ran for 200 more yards last year but it took him 60 more carries and he had 5 FEWER rushing TDs.  Another comparison – that Heisman guy Tim Tebow.  He threw for 300 fewer yards and ran for 200 fewer than Dan LeFevour last year, in his Heisman season.  Nervous yet?

Central Michigan’s starting RB is a Senior.  His name is Ontario Sneed.  I could tell you about how he ran for 7 yards-per-carry last week, but I dont think I have to, I assume you are already getting a mental image of how much fun Boomer, Stu Scott, and the gang are going to have saying Ontario Sneed, Ontario Sneed, over-and-over again tonight.

Ok, before I depress you further, step away from the computer, get-up, go outside and enjoy the day. I have done my duty.  You have been warned.
