The Superstar’s Kristi Leskinen Interview and Pictures
3 Aug
ABC’s The Superstars will have their grand champion decided Tuesday night, August 4th. Nine teams started the competition, three remain. Each team has one male and one female, as well as one athlete and one celebrity.
Kristi Leskinen, an elite eight finalist of the World’s Hottest Athlete, was nice enough to do an interview with InGameNow on the show, as well as what to expect in the Final.

InGameNow: Congratulations on making it to the finals of The Superstars. You and Maks Chmerkovskiy have been the most dominant team in the competition. This week, you go head to head against Bode Miller and Paige Hemmis, as well as Lisa Leslie and David Charvet to see which athlete/celebrity couple will win it all. Was it relieving to see Brandi Chastain and Julio Iglesias, Jr. not make it to the final round?
Kristi Leskinen: It was unexpected… Both Brandi and Julio are very fast. It was not a relief to see anyone go. By that point in the show we had become good friends.

IGN: To date, what has been the most challenging event at the Superstars?
Kristi: The bike and ride, because I had the strategy all wrong. I ended up doing twice the work.
IGN: Were the contestants happier to see TO or Joanna Krupa go?
Kristi: No, they provided great entertainment value.
IGN: Joanna came off like the worlds biggest bitch, was she?
Kristi: No. She had her moments, but I think anytime you take someone that is competitive and put them into a tough competition. Emotions come out in weird ways. She was working as hard as she could and quickly became frustrated.
IGN: A quick question from my wife….was there any chemistry between the couples?
Kristi: No.
IGN: You run like a swimmer (this is more of a statement than a question).
Kristi: I am a swimmer!

IGN: How much shit did Lisa catch for not making a basket?
Kristi: Not too much. She is a center and this really wasn’t her strong point. I guarantee if we had to play two on two she would have crushed us!
IGN: Bode has a reputation for being a partier. He came off like a boring cerebral dork. Thoughts?
Krsiti: Its all editing. He’s a great guy, and knows how to have a good time! Too much voice over and not enough action!
IGN: At the end of one of the earlier episodes, you had a sweet waterslide race with the QB Killa Warren Sapp. What’s your best Warren story?
Kristi: Warren is great! Half the time I had no idea what he said, but he would be laughing at himself so much that you couldn’t help but be sucked in.
IGN: If The Superstars had a drinking event, what team would have won?
Kristi: That’s a tough one, because there wasn’t any partying going on. I’ll have to go with Robert Horry and Estella Warren
IGN: Who was the hottest model at Superstars, Joanna, Ali, or Estella?
Kristi: Ali, She is absolutely gorgeous!
IGN: Did Brandi get a little too competitive?
Kristi: No. Bradi is awesome. I liked that she got into it so much.
IGN: Who was the funniest Superstar?
Kristi: Lisa Leslie. She was hilarious!

IGN: Why should people turn into the finale of Superstars?
Kristi: Because it’s a positive show, and I think all the competitors that are left are great role models.
IGN: Last question, by far the most important….Kalik or Kalik Gold?
Kristi: I don’t drink… Well on occasion, but I can’t say I tried either of them.
IGN: Is there anyone you would like to thank?
Kristi: Big thanks to my sponsors Oakley and Monster Energy for supporting me through the show. Look for Oakley’s new active line coming soon!
