Sun Bowl: Oregon State vs. Pittsburgh

Well, it’s not a New Year’s bowl, but New Year’s Eve is almost as good. At least that’s what Oregon State and Pittsburgh should be saying as they get ready for the Brut Sun Bowl in El Paso.

The Oregon State Beavers have had a season full of ups and downs. They beat the then-ranked #1 USC Trojans early in the season, however, got blown out 65-38 by interstate rival Oregon in the last game of the season. Jacquizz and James Rodgers form a formidable tandem in the backfield with 1,253 and 408 yards rushing, respectively. Junior quarterback Lyle Moevao added 2,341 yards and 19 touchdowns through the air.

The Pittsburgh Panthers was second in the Big East Conference with a 9-3 record. Sophomore runningback LeSean McCoy leads the team with 1,403 yards rushing and 21 touchdowns. He has also been very active in the passing game with over 30 receptions the past 2 years.
