Like all tournament champions, Stacy had to peak at the right time in order to execute a run of 6 straight victories. This tournament was no exception, and while her competition got harder with each round, she had already laid plenty of groundwork to show off her assets before round 1. We know Miss Hancock started in WCW years ago, and has since appeared on tv and in Stuff and Maxim, including ranking #5 on Maxim’s Hot 100.

That background set her up for easy wins in the opening rounds against Kelly Kelly and Michelle McCool, respectively. While both were stunning, neither opponent had the marquee status to compete. In the Sweet 16 and Elite 8, Keibler took out two favorites in Gina Carano and Allison Stokke. Both Carano and Stokke had knocked out some of the hottest favorites (like Beth Horn and Leryn Franco), setting themselves up for potential Final Four runs. Needless to say, Stacy Keibler proved herself over competition with sheer beauty, youth, and star power.

Still, Blair O’Neal and the Feres Twins each had plenty of beauty, youth, and star power. Blair O’Neal definitely won fans among the IGN staff with her participation, while the Feres Twins seemed unstoppable with their numbers (of themselves and number of votes). But the IGN viewers defied our expectations and voted en masse for the 42″ legs and statuesque body–83% Keilber to 17% for the twins. And our celebrity voters and IGN staff were also impressed–they didn’t quite give the Twins landslide we were expecting.

We can’t wait to see more Stacy Keibler. World’s Hottest Athlete–relish the title. Over a million votes made it so.
