Shawne Merriman Knee Injury is Lights Out for 2008

Poor Shawne Merriman – the San Diego Chargers sack specialist who is famous for his wildly annoying “Lights Out” post sack ‘dance’… and the defensive power that everyone seems to forget was caught with steroids.

But in great irony, Shawne Merriman is 99% likely Lights Out for the 2008 season. Merriman has knee ligament damage that will most likely require surgery before the season begins – and that would sideline him for the entire year.

This is a devastating blow for the San Diego Chargers who need Merriman to shore up the quarterback pressure. It also means that the Chargers must now rely on Mr. Philip Rivers… and that is NOT a good thing.
