Ref destroys South Carolina QB
20 Oct
Did anyone catch that there is a referee in the SEC that tackles better than 90% of college linebackers? This guy must have some distant relationship to Ed Hochuli.
The play happened this past weekend in the LSU, South Carolina game when Gamecocks QB, Stephen Garcia, scrambled out of the pocket when out of nowhere he is decked by the umpire, Wilber Hackett Jr. Hackett clearly gives Garcia a forearm shiver that immediately sends him to the ground. It should also be noted that Hackett is a former linebacker at Kentucky.
Do you think he can add a tackle to his college resume?
Has anyone seen the Buffalo Wild Wings commercial where the referee tackles the player? I don’t see much of a difference between the two tackles. Take a look at both videos and see if you can decide which is the commercial and which is an actual referee in an actual college football game.
Quick update: The SEC came out today and said that Hackett was in the proper position for an umpire. They are absolutely right. He was in great position…to make a fantastic tackle.
