Based on what I have seen so far and read, these are my picks for Game Changers in 08′.

DE Keyon Brown — Took a big step forward in his development last season in the bowl game against Central Michigan, finishing with 2.5 sacks and five tackles. Brown, though, has been inconsistent to this point. With Cliff Avril gone, Brown becomes the focus at a defensive end position that is otherwise filled with freshmen and sophomores.

LB Jason Werner — Missed all of last season recovering from back surgery, but excelled with a big spring and is in line to start in the fall. It was unclear whether or not Werner would ever play again after he endured nearly six hours of back surgery in December 2006. Now healthy, Werner has plenty of speed to bring to a defense in desperate need for playmakers.

RB Dan Dierking — He’s stuck behind a pair of seniors in Jaycen Taylor and Kory Sheets, but Dierking looked good this spring and will again provide depth at a position where injuries are prevalent.
