Pittsburgh Men’s Basketball is #1!

The University of Pittsburgh Panthers finally got their due moving from #3 in the country to #1 after their 70-54 win over Georgetown. This marked the Panthers’ 14th win of their so-far undefeated season. They are led by Sam Young with 19.5 points per game and DeJuan Blair who adds a double-double per game with 14.2 points and 12.5 rebounds. Pittsburgh will see if they can make it 15 in a row against against St. John’s on January 11th.

Other than the Panthers and Connecticut at #5, the top 5 in the poll is dominated by the ACC. Duke, North Carolina, and Wake Forest are #2, #3, and #4, respectively. Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, and Clemson are the only remaining undefeated teams in the top 25.
