Michael Phelps and Carrie Underwood Officially Dating, Sorry Tony Romo

We uncovered Michael Phelps last girlfriend, Stephanie Rice (full photo gallery here)… but now Michael has moved on to a pop star: former American Idol winner and country sensation Carrie Underwood. The National Enquirer has reported that Carrie and Michael are quietly planning their first in-person date (after having connected via phone / email).
Of course, Michael Phelps comes after Tony Romo and it is quite the trade: a Dallas Cowboys quarterback more for his new girlfriend Jessica Simpson than his on-field success… and Phelps, a 14 gold medal champion.
“Carrie needs someone who is going to stick by her,” a skeptical pal of Carrie’s revealed to the National Enquirer. “She was devastated when her relationship with Tony Romo broke. The last thing she needs is a relationship with another high-profile celebrity who’s going to end up loving and leaving her.”
Phelps is known for his monstrous appetite and is apparently embarrassed as he is hoping there’ll be no eating involved in the first date. Michael Phelps was said to have told Carrie, “I’m not so sure you’d want to see me eat! It might not make a great first impression”.
