Deshon Sanders, Reserve Texas Tech DB, Charged With Dealing Cocaine

Junior Deshon Sanders, a reserve defensive back at Texas Tech, was charged with dealing cocaine and arrested by the DEA early this morning. Sanders’ roommates, All-American receiver Michael Crabtree and defensive end Brandon Sesay, were not implicated in the investigation.

Drugs were not found on Sanders at the time of the arrest or during a search of his apartment. The crime was committed near his hometown of Hobbs, NM, on or between June 6 and June 7, 2008. Sanders was charged with conspiracy and felony possession with intent to distribute in excess of 50 grams of cocaine. He faces a minimum 10 year prison sentence if convicted.

Sanders has four tackles and appeared in all 12 games this season, but will be missing the bowl game. This is what he is going to wear to court:
